One North Park

One North Park is a new park situated less than 5 mins from Bouna Vista MRT station, highly accessible via public transport, surrounded by buildings such as the MOE and Biopolis at its sides.

My first impression was : WOAH, so many fig trees, it was planted with an assortment of Ficus species, both small and the original trees! It will be exciting if any of the Ficus trees starts figging.

Right from the start - a Ficus benghalensis tree.. but the choice of shrubs planted was quite limited, mostly Osmoxylon and Pandanus, nothing really exciting

ficus elastica
Ficus elastica
blue pansy
Blue Pansy (Junonia orithya wallacei) - one of my favourite butterflies, simply because it's blue :P
common palmfly
Common Palmfly (Elymnias hypermnestra agina) - very common in urban areas
Ficus benghalensis
Coppersmith Barbet (Megalaima haemacephala) was spotted feeding on the figs
Ipomoea sp.

The first impression was not too bad, the Coppersmith Barbet made my day :)
