Short-banded Sailors @ Pasir Ris Park

Visited Pasir Ris Park today, nothing much at this side of the park, except park visitors..

Was going to wrap up for the day, when I spotted a Short-Banded Sailor (Phaedyma columella singa) flying near the Flacourtia inermis trees, gave chase and I found this trio of sailors congregating on the tree branch!!

Flacourtia inermis is the host plant for the Leopard butterfly so I was actually quite puzzled why they are congregating there...Upon closer inspection, they are sucking on the branch, my best guess would be they are sucking on the plant sap, perhaps a damaged part of the branch?

I will be glad if anyone can enlighten me on this :)
