Bird survey in BTNR

I tagged along for a bird survey in BTNR this morning, was all excited to see the forest birds but the weather played me out. It was gloomy and dark...not the best weather to see birds :(
Later in the morning, the weather got better so the butterflies came out to greet us! :) yeah!!

branded imperial

Branded Imperial (Eooxylides tharis distanti) spotted - its host plant is Smilax bracteata

common kingfisher (2)
Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) found perching on a dead log sticking out of the water
common kingfisher
Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
common mormon

Common Mormon (Papilio polytes romulus) - finally got a proper shot of it feeding!

Could this be a Common Caerulean?
Sometimes it amazes me how beautiful the view is in the reserve
Curcubitaceae plant?

Horsfield's Baron (Tanaecia iapis puseda) female?

malayan bush brown

Malayan Bush Brown (Mycalesis fusca fusca) - first time seeing it!

peacock pansy

Peacock Pansy (Junonia almana javana) - might be too early in the morning, this little fellow was still perching motionless underneath the leaf

Thought it was going to be a rather uninteresting morning since i didnt really get to see any birds, but the butterflies cheered me up alot! ;)
